29/06/2010 Too much going on at the moment to keep this updated (still gotta post the rest of the Prague photos) - normal service will be resumed soon!
|
01/06/2010 Doh! DoS forgot that we're about to pick up a cheque for £100 (£8.33 per head)... any suggestions as to what we do with it?

26/05/2010 Kitty/Tour news: JT (avg 51.83) now out of debt so BS account balance now £763.05 with £10 cash-in-hand. Will shortly be issuing £720 in cash (£60 per head) to Reg to be converted into "local" currency (and I suppose I'd better give him 12 money bags and a calculator). This will leave us with a balance of £53.05 to cover the league fees for next season (£30) plus enough (£5) to keep the BS account open... and no, I'm not divvying up the remaining £18 between the 12 of us!
"Star player" (Dan's words, not mine) Dan still owes me £10 for his TWO wags tickets for the Presentation Night...
|
19/05/2010 Presentation Evening: 19 attending (so far...) which doesn't include "star player" Dan's (avg 48.73) two wags!
And if anyone has any ideas as to how we're gonna all get to Hamsnorts and back, please let me know...
DJ (avg 50.79) out of debt! So balance in Building Society account (after £60 for tickets) is now £753.05 with £10 cash-in-hand.
|
06/05/2010 Kitty/Tour news, Reg has had £2195 from the kitty to pay for the balance of the tour (plus a new Blu-Ray player)... so total cost of tour is £3495 for 12 of us (£291 per head)... so I guess we're being limo'd to the airport and then flying first class to a 5-star destination... I'm gonna put Dubai for my sweepstake entry. Balance in Building Society account is now £813.05

05/05/2010 WE ARE TOP THE LEAGUE, SAY, WE ARE TOP THE LEAGUE ...was it ever in doubt... don't they know who we are?
|
29/04/2010 9th win in a row! Trailing by 26 pins against Wanderers midway through the game we managed to get ahead and win by 6. Don't they know who we are?
Knowing how the Morse Codes final games went, we need to win our last game to take the Division 2 title (and the extra £25 prize money!)
|
22/04/2010 8th win in a row! Trailing by 15 pins at the end of the 5th leg against the Allsorts, a massive 74 in the 6th leg put us back in front. Don't they know who we are? Kitty now over £4k!
|
06/03/2010 Apologies, but there will be no updates to this site for a couple of weeks (DoS on hols!)... hopefully captain Reg will post any news under Reggie's Rant
Game against Wanderers on Wed 10th March has been cancelled.

28/02/2010 For those who appear to have forgotten, this summer's Se-e-ecret Tour is from Sat 5th to Tue 8th June.
|
24/02/2010 Tuesday nighters (oh it's really fine) away side notched up another 2 points for the team while the rest of the squad were so say "working". Again. Down by 10+ pins for the first 6 legs, (but after 8 legs, (hey ho!)) Steve on his "worst alley ever" got top score with 63 (inc 2 spares) backed up by DoS with 55 (inc 1 spare) to win by 17. Don't they know who we are?
...and somebody put 5p in the kitty. Again.
Also some concern amongst the team that "Secret Tour baton holder" has spent £1300 on a new plasma TV... rumour to be confirmed
|
31/01/2010 Thanks to supergrass Fraz, I have photographic evidence of Dean wearing his team shirt in Marbella on a Sunday night. I believe a fine is in order...
|
27/01/2010 Nice away win against the Daydreamers! 18 down most of the game... 8 down going into the last leg... won by 8... don't they know who we are?
Bob did the team proud with 2 consecutive spares in his 63 and Fraz with 61 (No spare. Again) done good but Sooz (Called up to play at 6pm. Again) notched up an 11 spare half way down the last leg to give us the cushion to win the game!
|
21/01/2010 New fine B.13
...and tonite's kitty was £100.25... so who the f**k put a 5p piece in the kitty???
|
14/12/2009 Fraz says... After deliberating over a pint after the game in the Boars, I have decided that Dam has to go to the (just above Dean) bottom of pecking order. And I am still the best player in the world.
|
26/11/2009 Good team effort to beat joint-top team Nobblers at home. Finally got to hear an overdue "Stanley Ovation"...
Se-e-ecret Tour news: Dates are now Sat 5th - Tue 8th June 2010. Tour leader Reg is booking flights and paying deposits in the next few days... Now, does anybody not know what they're doing on 5th June next year?
Other news: Dam is going to get a lottery syndicate going... treasurer needs to check if we can pay Camelot via DD from the building society account...
From the treasurer: In an unprecedented action, Dan has paid 2x £10 clubmemberships in advance! So, starting next week, any £10 non-playing fines incurred will incurr an additional £1 per game interest fine for every subsequent game that the fine is not paid. That is to say: if you miss any games, you must pay £10 for each missed game at the next game for which you are available, else you will incurr a £1 fine for each unpaid £10 for every subsequent game while the £10(s) is(are) unpaid... All clear?

06/08/2009 AGM took place last night at the Boars, meeting opened at 8pm. In attendance were Pete, Reg and Chloe. Election of Officers: Director of Skittles - Pete (proposed by Reg, seconded by Chloe). Captain - Reg (proposed by Pete, seconded by Chloe). Bottom of Pecking Order - Dean (proposed by Reg, seconded by Reg). No players were promoted to the Hall of Fame. The following were agreed: No new signings for the forthcoming season as Rake is moving from part to full-time status. Rules and fines were discussed and amended, main change being that scoring 5 or under is now a £1 fine and scoring a duck is now a £2 fine. Meeting closed at 8.35pm.
Subsequently, Fraz paid the first fine of the season (£2) for calling an RDW and then turning up late.

15/07/2009 Se-e-ecret Tour took place over 4 days from Sat 4th to Tue 7th July, ably organised by this year's tour leader Lisa Dam. Leaving the Boars Head at 8.45am (not 9am!) we headed off to er... Bristol Airport. Until we got to check-in, only Dam knew the tour destination. In fact, as EasyJet's check-in desks were open to all destinations we didn't know where we were going until we actually had boarding card in hand... destination Krakow!
The transfer from Krakow Airport to our hotel, the Galycia, must have been the longest 15km airport transfer ever... instructions were easy enough... get the bus to the train station, take the train into Krakow, get the no. 10 tram to hotel. Seemplz!.
Unfortunately the kind people at Krakow Airport put a bar just outside the terminal exit. After almost an hour of being only a few feet into Polish territory, we eventually got the bus to get the train and we arrived in Krakow city centre. Not knowing how the tram system worked, we retired to the nearest pub to get advice off a friendly barman. An hour and three pints later, 7 of the team had enough advice to tackle the no. 10 tram and made it to the hotel (the remainder bottled out and took a taxi - not in our instructions so I feel a fine is in order).
Tour involved the obligatory drinking, mayhem and go-karting (which Reg claims to have won even though JT has the fastest lap time...); 9 of the team went off to visit Auschwitz on the Monday and the photos should tell the rest of the story...
...except one minor incident. On the first night, somewhere around 3am, DJ decided to go sleepwalking in just a pair of boxers. He woke up around 2 miles from the hotel with no recollection of where we were staying... DJ can tell you the rest.
Excellent tour and destination well organised by Dam. Reg has already picked up the tour-organiser baton for 2010. DoS
